Danish knot

I completed my saree pallu design with Danish knot. I find it very easy to do the stitch.
Here i show how i did the Danish knot.
First bring the needle at A and go down to B.

Come out at C.

Bring the needle down under stitch(A B)without piercing the fabric.

Keep the thread to the left.

Go back under the stitchwith the thread under the needle.

Go in at D to secure the stitch.
Bring back the needle at B and continue the stitch.

Like this.

The completed stitch row looks like this and this is how I completed the zig zag row in the border at the saree pallu design.
This Danish  stitch can be used for small flowers and buds also.

  1. This looks really nice as a border. What type of thread are you using to do this? I love how it is twisted; it adds such nice dimension to the work.

I am using pearl cotton thread.
Small flowers can also be done with stitch.
